About our Lab section

As with our philosphy, we like to keep our research goals simple. As stated before, our primary goal is to keep up to date on various new techniques and explore their potential uses in more typical business applications.

But obviously some projects have their own merits while not being directly fit for business situations. For these projects we also provide a home here at our labs initiative and actively look for academic partners to sustain interesting research.

Our methods might be considered equally simple. In a typical grassroots initiative, technological advances and promising fields of study alike are investigated by our engineers. The main focus lies demonstrating the possiblities and implications of the topic at hand, often by implementing a proof of concept.

Requested expertise

We`re currently looking to team up with academic researchers on the projects listed below. Such shared research projects are typically well-defined, allowing researchers to work relatively autonomously on their study while we provide implementation support.

Lightweight GPS tracking

With integrated GPS receivers becoming more common in modern mobile devices, these may be used as GPS tracking devices. At its core, this research project focusses on retrieving GPS data on these devices and relaying this information back to a central server application using GPRS or UMTS data connections.

Physics simulation

Our physics simulation research is an ongoing effort to accurately model physical phenomena (such as collisions, explosions and weather influences) in our 3D visualization products. The basic physical models may be well-defined and there are various 3rd party components available for this task, but that does not render the modelling process itself trivial.

Computer Vision

Our computer vision research focusses on small applied projects to augment the daily use of computers. In case you`re wondering, the field of computer vision deals with techniques to allow a computer (or rather software) to observe the real world and extract meaningful information from these observations to act upon.
